Eishq. Ma

Ishq Ma means “My Love” in Persian, the “E” in the beginning came from a woman who taught me a bit of Persian while I served abroad. She would come into a café that I would visit often to edit photos. She would always ask if the seat across from me was taken before sitting down. over the course of a year she taught me a great deal about the language. When I asked her about love she was alarmed because it was not something to be taken lightly, I will never forget the intensity in her eyes as she spoke of it. As time went on the phrase became a motto for my relationship with my camera. When I decided to start portraits the name came naturally.
