URBAN TEXTURE MAGAZINE
Urban Texture began as a dream in 2017, A type of magazine that focused on the artists of the inner city. Chicago’s art scene was in full bloom, with social media firmly planted at its center. Unfortunately the dream was shelved by the death of my mother. However in 2023 the dream was reimagined with the dissolution of Chicago’s premier Instagram account Art of Chi. In the hopes of rebuilding that community and reimagining the goal of uniting artists of different mediums under one umbrella Urban Texture was new again.
With the logo of a coyote united under the slogan of Art, Food, and Culture. Urban Texture aims to bring the pulse of the inner city into the hands of the masses. By hosting: Featured Artists, Art Galleries, and various art workshops there is something for everyone to find the creative in themselves.

the coyote.
it was a cold night in December of 2017, I was walking home from the Lincoln Park zoo, I happened to see a strange dog, which stopped to stare at me before loping off into the night. I asked a passerby if she had seen a strange dog about, as I wanted to take a photo. She exclaimed that it was no dog, and in fact it was a coyote. Apparently the urban setting is the perfect habit for a coyote, without the risk of predictor’s coyote populations have flourished.
